ANIME

1. Futari Ecchi - Anime Erotica in the best sense of the word. This is not pr0n. This is a surprisingly sensitive look at the love life of a young married couple learning how to be husband and wife. See if you can find a fansub, it's worth watching for you 18+folk.

2. Saishukeiki Kanojou (Saikano) - What if you fell in love, and the girl you loved turned out to be a weapon of mass destruction? Teenage love and hormones on the one hand, total destruction on the other. "The Last Love Song on This Little Planet" indeed. The manga, by the way, is more explicit than the anime.

Your not alone...I too know how it feels to lose a family member. My family lives in Honda, Colombia. And sometimes they hardly have enough money to afford a docter & clothes.

All the Dice are Silent

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 4, 2008, 12:38 PM
  • Watching: Legend of Black Heaven
Suddenly, things didn't hurt so much. The pain was gone, and the darkness as well. The touch of his loved ones' hands faded away, as did the pain.

He was free.

He wasn't sure when it happened, just that it did. There was a burst of light, and a feeling of utter calmness, and then a moment of understanding.

He looked back only once, but already, what had been was fading away. A part of him longed to return, but a voice whispered to him that his time there was over. Something new lay ahead.

But first, there was something he wanted to do.

They were already waiting for him, smiling, just like he remembered. Sheets of paper with arcane symbols and numbers lay in front of them next to glasses of drink and small, polyhedral shapes that glowed in brilliant colors that no human eye could have seen. Faces long since missed. Friends and loved ones that he'd wished he could have seen one more time, and now he could.

There was one empty seat waiting for him at the head of the table.

He took his seat and cleared his throat. Reaching out a hand, he adjusted the shimmering cardboard screen and glanced over his notes.

"All right, guys. Roll for initiative," he said.

Gary Gygax, creator of the pen and paper roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons, and the grandfather of all tabletop roleplaying games, passed away today. He had been in poor health, suffering multiple strokes, heart attacks, and an aoric aneurysm.

If you have ever handled polyhedral dice, rolled for initiative, or even played a game of World of Warcraft online, you owe a great debt to the man who started it all with a bunch of fantasy supplement rules for a tabletop medieval combat game called Chainmail. Raise a glass at midnight tonight Eastern Standard Time for the man who made THAC0 a part of a teenage geek's vernacular, who authored countless blue-black-and-white maps made of five-foot squares and filled with ridiculous deathtraps, to the man who gave three generations of teenage nerds something to do on Saturday nights while all the "cool kids" were out hanging out with girls.

RIP, Dungeon Master

That is news. I'll make a note of it, and make sure to do something in remembrance of him tonight.

On the one hand that is very sad, and a great loss to the tabletop gamers everywhere...but on the other, it sounds as if, given his health, it was for the nest, and that he is in a better place now, free of the pain and complications that come with strokes and other such health problems. He will be remebered by many, and his legacy will live on for generations to come in many forms of gaming, be they his originals, or the new stories and new games that are created all the time.

Never heard about it on the news. May he rest in peace.
That is a great obituary. Well done by a master, MoCaw.
I am a table top wargamer. Even though Warhammer 40,000 is sci-fi based, we still owe some credit to him.

::Solamnic salute:: "Est Sularus oth Mithas." I can not think of a more-fitting tribute, MoCaw. I am sure that he would be joyed at not only the benefactors of his efforts, but how they mourn him. "Death is life's one great certainty."

Nothing I can say can match the words that you've said for such a great man, Mocaw. If it weren't for him, I'd probably be doing.... horrible things...

But I'm not! Because I've found comfort in trying to level my Blood Elf fire mage, or simply spent time quietly sifting through my overstuffed, unorganized pack, trying to find the right potion for a sticky situation.

He was a great man, and so he shall remain. In our minds, in our hearts, and in the games. :salute:
